Liturgical
Ministries
All ministry is scheduled on a monthly rotating basis.
Servers:
Serve
the Lord with Gladness! We welcome all youth 9 years old through High School to
train as servers. After a training period, the servers have a rotating
schedule, usually serving once a month at week-end Masses. They may be called
upon to serve at other liturgical prayer or devotions. You’re invited to call
816-628-5030, ask for Pat Kreidler.
Ushers
and Hospitality Ministry:
The
Ushers and hospitality ministers extend the first greeting in the name of Jesus
and our faith community. They provide the amenities of hospitality from
greeting to seating; assistance as it is needed, collecting our offerings,
coordinating gift bearers during the liturgy. They distribute the bulletin and
tidying our worship space after each service. We invite families to share in
the ministry of hospitality. Adults with confirmed youth are welcome to serve
as ushers. Our head usher, Jim Beaty provides
training, 792- 4862.
Lectors:
Lectors
proclaim the scripture readings from the old and new testaments. Their ministry
is required at all week-end liturgies, and some chose to serve at week-day
Masses. This ministry requires time for prayerful preparation of the readings.
Clear diction, tempo and tone are a must for this ministry, since the very word
of God is imparted through hearing. Special Training is available throughout
the year by the Diocese. If this gift of proclamation describes you, please
call 816-628-5030, Pat Kreidler for further
information.
Special
Ministers of Holy Communion:
This
ministry provides for orderly and timely distribution of Holy Communion during
Mass. Special training sessions are provided by the Diocese throughout the
year. For more information about becoming a Eucharistic Minister contact the
Parish office 816-628-5030. Pat Kreidler.
