The Missouri Catholic Conference exists to ensure that Gospel values form the foundation of public policies of our state.

Formed in 1967 the mission of the MCC includes:

• Promoting the material and spiritual well-being of all people of the state of Missouri in the fields of health, education and social welfare;
• Providing moral leadership to Catholics and others throughout the state, particularly in the area of public policy;
• Participating in the democratic process of government, its legislative, executive and judicial branches; and
• Providing a channel of communication through which Catholics can communicate with one another and with other groups, both secular and religious, in order to establish a network of information and action to address issues affecting the common good.

MCC Annual Assembly, September 30, 2006 - State Capitol Building

Are you looking for a day of good conversation, fellowship and inspiration?  The 2006 MCC Annual Assembly features keynote speaker Dr. Richard Chole, MD, Lindburg Professor and Department Chairman of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.  He is president of the American Otological Society and Director of the American Board of Otolaryngology.  Dr. Chole will address the pending human cloning and embryonic stem cell research initiative.  The initiative seeks to amend the Missouri constitution to allow human cloning and the destruction of human life for medical research.  Dr. Chole is an outspoken opponent of the initiative while his employer, Washington University in St. Louis, is a leading proponent of the initiative.   Mass will be celebrated at the close of the day at St. Peter Church (across the street from the Capitol).  To find out more about the workshops and registration log on to www.mocatholic.org.  Also, more information on the bulletin board in the narthex of the church.
